I met Bill Ludwig in the 1950s, after we’d both been sprung from the military.
We were students at The University of Connecticut, and we shared an apartment in Willimantic, Connecticut. After U-Conn I went to the midwest and Bill to the south, and we had only occasional contact. Periodically I’d become aware of the work that he was doing; I saw some of his stuff at a
gallery in New Orleans a number of years ago, and I think that I saw some of it at a more northern location, though I can’t recall exactly where. I’ve relayed Elaine’s message to a couple of long-time friends.
He was an interesting sculptor and an equally interesting person.
